The new Citroën C1 will be available in three door-, five door- and soft top versions

Citroën is billing the new Citroën C1 as ‘city driving, refined’.

The French car company will head across the border to Switzerland next week to premiere the new model at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new city car will be available in both five and three door models, as well as a new Airscape open top version.

Citroën says handling in the new C1 is nimble and its compact dimensions make it ‘ideal for city driving’.

It describes the new model as having a ‘playful character’ evident from a ‘smiling front-end’ and brightly coloured interiors.

The New Citroën C1 is available in eight colours, with bi-tone colour options offering a degree of personalisation. There will also be two special launch versions.

The soft-top is also bi-toned, with a choice of three colours for the roof.

Citroën says the cabin in the C1 is spacious, and comfortable for four adults.

The new C1 is fitted with a 7in touch screen infotainment unit, which can be upgraded to a Mirror Screen unit. This hooks up to your phone, giving access to phone apps.

There’s also a reversing camera and hill hold assist. The C1 also features hands free access and drive, meaning you can both open the doors and start the car with the key on your person.

Two petrol engines will be available – the e-VTi68 Airdream (manual and automatic) and the new VTi 82 PureTech. The latter, a 1.2litre 3-cylinder 82bhp, accelerates from 0-100kph in 11 seconds.

Launch dates and pricing have yet to be announced.
