The new Citroën C3 is expected in Ireland in the summer

The Citroën C3 is getting a new smile thanks to new exterior styling on the latest generation model, which will be debuted at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Citroën says that because of its small turning circle, the new Citroën C3 is perfect for city driving, but it’s no stranger to the open road either.

On the way in the new Citroën C3 is a Zenith windscreen, which extends the glass over the front seat occupants by 80°, as well as a reversing camera and parking sensors.

Inside, the spacious cabin also gets a new look – with new upholstery matching the new cross strip, which is available in Moondust grey, matte black or warm brown. Chrome surrounds are also a feature in the newly appointed interior, as is a thermo-coated dashboard.

Citroën says the boot in the C3, at 300litres, is ‘among the largest’ in a car of its size.

Meanwhile, the instrument panel in the new Citroën C3 gets white back-lighting.

The exterior colour palette has been extended to nine, with the addition of Encre Blue body paint.

The new Citroën C3 will be available in a range of petrol and diesel engines, including 1 or 1.2litre VTi 68, VTi 82 and VTi 120 PureTech petrol engines, which the French car makers says ‘provide excellent performance with no detriment to pleasure’.

Five diesel engines will be available – the HDi 70, e-HDi 70, HDi 90, e-HDi 90 and e-HDi 115, with Citroën saying the micro-hybrid e-HDi technology has the most efficient Stop and Start system available.

Citroën Ireland expects the new Citroën C3 to be available here in time for the July registrations.
