Mazda is expecting a ‘brand renaissance’ with the new Mazda6, which arrives in Ireland in mid-January.
Priced from €27,995, Mazda’s flagship model will be available in both saloon and tourer (estate) body styles and the Japanese car maker is hoping it will not only retain current customers but will also attract new buyers to the brand.
Mazda promises the new model, which boasts a new sporty and muscular exterior design, is even better to drive, feels more luxurious, is more efficient and better equipped.
Inside, the cockpit is driver oriented and Mazda says the cabin has segment-leading space.
The new Mazda6 also features SkyActiv Technology, which promotes driving fun, excellent fuel economy and low emissions. It is also the first Mazda to feature the i-ELOOP fuel-saving brake energy regeneration system.
The new Mazda6 will be available in a range of petrol and diesel engines with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.
However, Mazda expects the 2.2-litre 150ps Sport manual diesel to be the most popular. It promises figures of 108g/km CO2 with fuel economy of 4.2l/100km.
The Sport trim features cruise control, climate control, 5.8” touch screen multimedia audio system, Bluetooth, 17” Alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors and Smart City Brake Support as standard.
Prices for the new Mazda6 start from €27,995, with the Diesel Sport Saloon model starting from €30,995.
