The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class sports tourer will be available in Ireland from December, in time for January registration.
The facelifted model has a revamped front end, with a new bumper, a wider radiator with star inset, new LED high performance headlights and new daylight running lights.
Inside, there’s a new instrument cluster and a new freestanding infotainment unit.
The new B-Class sports tourer also has optional driving assistance systems, and Attention Assist and Collision Prevention Assist systems are standard.
Three trims will be available in Ireland – Style, Urban and the sporty AMG.
There’s also a choice of eight engines – four diesels and four petrols.
Mercedes-Benz Ireland believes the 1461cc, 4-cylinder B160 CDI Style 90bhp diesel will be the most popular here. It has an annual road tax of €190 and a starting price from €31,000.
Meanwhile, the B180CDI Style offers a higher top speed, slighter faster acceleration and better torque. It’s expected to start from €32,000.
The petrol offerings start with a 1595cc, 4-cylinder B180 Style. It has a top speed of 200kph and a 0-100km acceleration figure of 9.3secs.
It carries road tax of €270 and prices are expected to start from just under €33,000.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is also coming to Ireland, when it’s available in right hand drive. Prices are expected to start from €40,000.
Mercedes-Benz Ireland’s passenger car sales manager Ciaran Allen said: ‘Since its arrival here in 2012, the B-Class has built up a respectable customer following amongst those who want to balance its extra spaciousness with the economical running costs that a compact class model offers. We expect this trend to continue.’
