All-new Ford Mondeo available to order

Prices for the new mid- and high-series Ford Mondeo start from €28,995

The all new Ford Mondeo is expected in Ford dealerships across the country in late November.

Prices for the new mid- and high-series models start from €28,995 and the cars are now available to order.

The new model will initially be available in two trims – Zetec and Titanium – in both five-door and estate variants.

An All-Wheel-Drive diesel variant will be added in 2015, as well as a new four-door hybrid electric vehicle.

Standard specification on the all-new Mondeo Zetec includes cruise control, the fuel efficient Auto Start Stop, day-time running lights, SYNC infotainment unit and the MyKey system for inexperienced drivers.

The Titanium trim adds front and rear parking sensors, auto lights and wipers, Lane Keeping Aid, Traffic Sign Recognition, sports seats and an eight inch touchscreen.

Engine options range from a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine (coming in early 2015) to a 2.0-litre 150PS diesel.

The Mondeo Hybrid will have a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery . It’s the first hybrid Ford will manufacture in Europe.

Advanced safety features in the new Mondeo include Inflatable Rear Seatbelts, Active Park Assist featuring Perpendicular Parking, and both Park-Out Assist, which helps drivers exit parallel parking spaces; and Side Parking Aid, which gives an on-screen view and audible warning of obstacles to the sides of the vehicles, as well as to the front and rear.

Active City Stop, which prevents low speed fender-benders, is also available.
