The new look Kia Sorento hits Irish showrooms this week.

The SUV’s exterior styling sees modifications to its bumpers, the addition of unusual upright fog lights, a new tailgate and a new front grille.

The new look seven seater also has a 30mm increase in leg room in the second row of seats and a 9mm increase in the third.

Kia also says the new Sorento has one of the quietest cabins in its class and the car offers an improved drive, with better refinement, ride and handling.

Two Kia Sorento trim levels are available in Ireland – the entry level EX and Platinum.

Parking sensors, front climate control, Bluetooth and a roof rack are as standard in the EX model.

Opt for the Platinum and you also get leather upholstery with heated front seats, rain sensor, reversing camera, rear privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof.

Both variants are powered by an improved 2.2-litre 197ps diesel engine and both have all wheel drive as standard. Both a six speed manual and automatic transmissions are available.

Managing director of Kia Motors Ireland, James Brooks said the new Kia Sorento is ‘not just a cosmetic exercise but represents a major step forwards for our popular SUV which is sure to bring back existing Sorento customers and competitive owners who are becoming increasingly aware of the design, engineering and quality that Kia offers’.

Prices for the new Kia Sorento start from €37,990, and the SUV has annual road tax of €390.
