Siri Eyes Free is available for free on all IntelliLink-equipped Opel Adams ordered from today

Drivers of a certain age will have had their eye on Knight Rider’s superduper sidekick, Kitt and while the Opel Adam can’t yet drive itself, it can now have a conversation with its driver (but probably without the backchat).

The Siri Eyes Free system works with an iPhone on Adam models fitted with the IntelliLink infotainment system and allows the driver to communicate with the phone through voice control and steering wheel mounted buttons.

Rather than displaying the information as text on a screen, Siri talks back to you.

Simply by talking to the car/Siri, drivers can make voice activated calls, play songs in their iTunes library, compose and send text messages, add appointments to phone calendars and ask Siri questions, such as whether you’ll need a brolly tomorrow.

The feature, which Opel says is a first for a city car, is available for free on IntelliLink-equipped Adams which are ordered from today.

Drivers who already own this Adam model can get a free update from next month through their nearest Opel dealer.
