Irish pricing and specification for the Peugeot 308 SW will be announced closer to its arrival in July

The all new Peugeot 308 SW will be available in Ireland from July.

The French car company is describing it as a ‘contemporary and spacious estate for modern family drivers’.

Long and wide, this ‘sporty estate’ is also lighter than its predecessor, which has a positive impact on its fuel economy.

The new model will be available in a range of petrol and diesel engines, including the PureTech 3-cylinder petrol engine range, which Peugeot says can travel 1,810km on one tank of fuel – 2.85litres/100km.

Petrol engines range from 110-155bhp, with CO2 emissions from 109g/km. The diesel offerings range from 92-150bhp, with CO2 emissions of less than 111g/km.

The new BlueHDi 106 litre 120bhp six speed manual is the most economical diesel, with a combined fuel consumption of 3.2l/100km and CO2 emissions of 85g/km.

The new Peugeot 308 SW also carries the Peugeot i-Cockpit design, with a small steering wheel which sees drivers viewing the instrument panel over rather than through the wheel.

This, Peugeot believes, is safer, as the positioning means drivers don’t have to take their eyes off the road.

The new Peugeot 308 SW is also fitted with a large touch screen infotainment unit.

‘Magic Flat’ seats in the Peugeot 308 SW fold automatically, giving a very generous boot

Adding to the cabin’s luxurious feel, the dashboard is padded, the steering wheel on higher trims is leather-covered and the cabin has satin chrome and gloss back inserts throughout.

A panoramic glass roof is optional.

As is to be expected, the cabin and boot space in the 308 SW are bigger than in its 308 hatchback counterpart.

The boot can be made even bigger with Magic Flat rear seats, which fold instantly.

Available driver aids include dynamic cruise control, emergency collision alert and braking systems, blind spot monitor, reverse camera, electric parking brake and keyless entry and start.

The new 308 SW also offers a park assist system, which self-parks in both parallel and parking bay situations.

Meanwhile, a Driver Sport Pack gives firmer and more responsive steering, a louder engine and a red instrument display.

The Peugeot 308 SW will be available in Ireland from July. Irish pricing and specification will be announced closer to that date.
