Renault Scenic gets crossed

The new Renault Scenic XMOD is available from €26,090

The new Renault Scenic crossover, the Scenic XMOD has arrived in Ireland.

The French car maker says the new model is ‘sporty and elegant’ and ‘combines the outdoor cues of a crossover with the refined world of an MPV’.

In keeping with crossover design, the Renault Scenic XMOD sits higher off the ground.

It also has exclusive alloy wheels, sill guards, special front and rear bumpers, chrome-finished roof rails, and LED daytime running lights.

Renault describes its new front radiator grille as ‘more expressive’.

The new Renault Scenic and the new Grand Scenic have also undergone a facelift to bring them in line with the new look.

Two diesel Stop and Start engines will be available in the Renault Scenic XMOD in Ireland – the Energy dCi 110 and the dCi 130 – as well as an Energy TCe 115 Stop and Start petrol engine.

Renault says the low emissions in both of its diesel engines make them best in class.

Two trim levels will be on offer in Ireland – Dynamique and Bose and the new Renault Scenic XMOD is the first Renault to offer the new Extended Grip system. This provides three driver-selected options to give better grip in challenging road conditions, such as in snow, sand or mud.

Inside, the cockpit of the Scenic XMOD is driver focused, with the control for the Extended Grip traction system and the joystick control for the SatNav within easy reach.

The top of the range Bose model features a flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminium-capped gear lever knob and pedals, stitched upholstery, a TomTom navigation system and Bose ‘tailor-engineered sounds’ with class-leading acoustic performance.

The boot in the Renault Scenic XMOD can extend to 555 litres, with an additional 71 litres of storage cubbies throughout the cabin.

The Scenic XMOD also offers multiple seating configurations.

Prices for the Renault Scenic XMOD start from €26,090.
