Seat marks Ibiza’s 30th with Cupster

The Seat Ibiza Cupster – or Cupra Roadster – is a one off creation

Seat is marking the 30th anniversary of the iconic Seat Ibiza with the Seat Ibiza Cupster – ‘a radically open-top fun mobile’.

The totally open Cupra Roadster is the creation of Seat Design and is a one off.

It’s powered by a 1.4-litre 180PS TSI engine with DSG dual-clutch transmission.

The two-seater is totally topless and the windscreen is a low wraparound strip of glass.

However, both driver and passenger are protected as they sit 80mm lower than the protection model.

The exterior of the Cupster is a specially formulated New Orange colour and the interior is ‘purist and based on the Ibiza race cars from the Ibiza Trophy’.

Its low-slung racing bucket seats are upholstered in black Alcantara and the steering wheel is clad in an open-pored leather.

Director of Seat Ireland, Cian O’Brien said: ‘The Ibiza has always been the heart of Seat – a young, dynamic car with an emotional design, a good head for the practical things in life and excellent value for money.

‘We are celebrating the anniversary of our most successful model with the unique Ibiza Cupster, not to mention the exceptionally well-equipped 30 Years edition.’
