The new look Skoda Superb is available in saloon and estate body types, with a 4×4 model to follow later this year

The Skoda Superb has had a facelift and now costs up to €3,400 less than the outgoing model.

The new look model features enhanced specifications, including more economical engines as well as Bluetooth technology and new LED lights at the back.

It’s available to order now, in time for the new 132 registration.

Fuel consumption has been reduced across the entire range of turbo charged TDI diesel and TSI petrol engines.

The top of the range 2.0 TDI 170bhp now outputs 20g/km less CO2 than the outgoing model, resulting in a saving of €120 in road tax.

Skoda said that in some cases CO2 emissions have been cut by 19 per cent, which results in lower vehicle registration taxes and savings of up to €3,400 compared with the current model.

Skoda Ireland’s head of marketing, Raymond Leddy said: ‘The new Superb has received more than just an external make over.

‘All Superbs are now more fuel efficient thanks to improved aerodynamics and reduced vehicle weight.

‘Mechanically the volume selling 1.6 TDI engine is now fitted with a new 6-speed manual transmission while all engines now receive start-stop technology to improve fuel economy even further.’

The Skoda Superb is available in saloon and combi (estate) body styles with a Superb 4×4 expected later this year.

Prices for the new Skoda Superb start from €24,995 for the 1.4 TSI Active model.
