The Subaru BRZ is available in Ireland from just under €40,000

The new Subaru BRZ has arrived in Ireland with the aim of providing ‘sheer driving pleasure’.

The BRZ is Subaru’s version of the Toyota GT86. This front-engine, rear driven sports car is powered by a Boxer engine.

The 2.0-litre, 200ps petrol engine has a top speed of 226kph and can accelerate from 0-100km in 7.6 seconds.

The car has a combined fuel consumption of 7.8l/100km and emissions of 181g/km, attracting a €750 annual road tax fee.

Cruise control, dual control air conditioning, leather wrapped steering wheel, gearshift knob and handbrake lever, as well as sporty seats are standard in the Subaru BRZ.

Subaru says that ‘with the lowest centre of gravity of any Subaru, perfect weight distribution, impressive fuel economy, and a truly engaging front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration’, the BRZ represents ‘the pinnacle of [its] chassis and engine innovation, in one truly attainable package’.

Prices for the new Subaru BRZ start from €39,995.
