The new Suzuki SX4 crossover will be available in September

Suzuki has announced details of the new Suzuki SX4 crossover, which will be available in September.

Suzuki’s naming convention in this vehicle is quite simple – the S stands for Suzuki, the X for crossover and the 4 for four wheel drive.

In developing the SX4, Suzuki coupled its compact car expertise with technologies more associated with sports utility vehicles.

Suzuki describes the new SX4 as ‘a model which can offer great driving enjoyment and versatile family usage’.

The new model, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, is bigger than the outgoing SX4, with class leading luggage space and front seats sculpted to give rear passengers maximum knee space.

The new model also comes with a double panoramic sliding glass roof, which Suzuki says is a world first.

Two engine types will be available in Ireland – a 1.6-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol. The driver also has a choice of four driving modes in the new 4WD system.

The new Suzuki SX4 will be available in 10 colours, including new additions Crystal Lime Metallic, which ‘brings a hint of the countryside to the city and a hint of the city to the countryside’ and Amethyst Grey Pearl Metallic.

Pricing and Irish specification details will be announced closer to its Irish launch.
