The Audi Q5’s styling, with its coupe-like roof line and wrap-around tailgate, has been refreshed in the new model, which will be available in September

Audi is now taking orders for the new Audi Q5, which arrives in Ireland in September.

Admirers of the new model will notice a subtle refreshment of the exterior styling and an even more refined interior.

Materials, upholstery fabrics and colours have been updated – with three new interior colours and a total of 35 combinations, offering more scope for customisation.

All trim lines also get equipment enhancements, with Bluetooth and spare wheel as standard across the range.

The new, more efficient, electromechanical power steering, which offers improved handling and reduced Co2 emissions, will also be available on all vehicles.

The updated engine range is now 15 per cent more efficient than its predecessor, with three options initially available in Ireland.

The entry model is the 2.0TDI 143. The 2.0 TDI 177 and the 3.0 TDI 245 will also be on sale. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is standard for Ireland.

Meanwhile, Audi will start taking orders for the new SQ5 in November, for spring delivery. The 3.0-litre BiTDI (diesel) engine produces 313PS, accelerating from 0-100kph in 5.1seconds, with a top speed governed at 250kph.

The Audi Q5’s infotainment options have also been improved, with internet radio, Google Point of Interest voice control search, and navigation with Google Earth and Google Street View just some of the options available.

Audi traffic information online, offering up-to-the minute traffic details on the selected route, will also be on offer.

Audi Ireland managing director, Andrew Doyle said: ‘Redesigned inside and out, the Q5 is more attractive and sporty than its predecessor and includes innovative design and infotainment features.

‘This new model will deliver significantly reduced fuel consumption levels of up to 15 per cent which will undoubtedly appeal to Irish motorists.‘

Prices for the new Audi Q5 start from €40,395 OTR, with prices for the SQ5 expected to start from €72,700 OTR.
