Chevrolet has announced its full model range for the Irish market.

Six core models will be offered – the Spark city car, the Aveo supermini, the Cruze family hatchback, Cruze four-door saloon, Orlando seven-seat MPV and Captiva SUV.

A station wagon variant of the Cruze will join the line-up later, while plans are also afoot to launch the Volt extended-range electric car.

The Spark, Aveo, Cruze, Orlando and Captiva are now available to buy at 10 Chevrolet dealerships across the country, with prices starting from €11,995 on-the-road for the Spark.

Previously working through an importer, the iconic American brand has now decided to distribute cars directly and is recruiting more dealerships.

Chevrolet UK and Ireland Managing Director, Mark Terry said: ‘After three very difficult years for the Irish car market, we believe there’s room to grow a globally trusted brand that offers great value and quality to customers, so that’s what we’re setting out to provide.

‘As the Irish economy returns to some form of stability, we’re the brand that will offer buyers the educated choice – make no mistake, we’re absolutely serious about the Irish car market.’
