The new Citroën Grand C4 Picasso is expected in Ireland later this year

Citroën has released details on the all new Citroën Grand C4 Picasso, which is expected in Ireland later this year.

Citroën says the seven seater has class leading cabin space in the second and third rows and access to row three has also been improved.

The new model will be available in a range of engines, including the new BlueHDi 150 diesel engine and the e-HDi 115 ETG6 micro-hybrid.

The manual version of the BlueHDi 150 emits 110g/km of CO2, putting it in the €190 road tax bracket. The e-HDi 115 automatic variant, meanwhile, emits 104g/km of C02.

With a ‘loft inspired’ interior design and a panoramic windscreen, the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has more glass than any other model in the segment.

The front seat upholstery has been designed to give the appearance of a couch. Massaging front seats will also be available as an option.

Storage options include under seat compartments and trays on the front seat backs.

Safety features include an adaptive cruise control system which keeps pace with the car in front and reacts automatically if it speeds up or slows down; an anti-collision warning system, and intelligent traction control which deploys on poor grip surfaces.

Driver aids include reversing camera, lane departure warning, blind spot monitor and 360 vision, which gives the driver a birds eye view of all angles. This car, when fitted with park assist, can also park itself, with the driver only having to work the pedals.

The award winning eTouch emergency response system is also available. This can make emergency calls if the car is involved in an accident or is immobilised.

The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso is expected in Ireland in the autumn, with prices and specifications announced closer to launch.
