Fiat is knocking more than €3,000 off the price of its award-winning Fiat 500 TwinAir next year.

Announcing its 2013 pricing, the Italian car-maker said its range will be a more affordable option next year, with price drops and more technology in a streamlined range.

Ahead of next month’s budget, Fiat said 2013 prices for the Fiat 500 TwinAir will start from €13,495, down from €16,745.

Meanwhile, at €12,495, the entry level hardtop version will be €400 cheaper than the 2012 price. The 500C Cabrio will be €1,000 cheaper to buy, with a starting price of €15,495.

Meanwhile, the Fiat Panda will see an eco friendly 65hpTwinAir and 4×4 Climbing versions added in 2013.

The Fiat Punto range will also be more affordable, with the starting price for the five-door version reduced by €1,800 to €13,495. The starting price on the TwinAir 85hp has been dropped to €14,495.

The five-door Fiat Punto diesel holds its €15,495 price tag, however, CO2 emissions will be reduced to 90g/km, with power increasing from 75hp to 85hp.

Managing Director of Fiat Ireland, Adrian C Walsh, said: ‘Despite the lack of clarity from the Government regarding VRT, road tax and number plate revisions due in 2013, we believe that no matter what the 2013 Budget throws at us in December, Fiat will be ready with some of the most technologically advanced, environmentally sound and great-value vehicles on the market today.’
