The Seat Toledo Style is expected to be the biggest seller in Ireland

The new Seat Toledo has arrived in Ireland and customers who order before December 21 will get 3,000km of free fuel.

Four petrol and diesel engines will be available, two 1.2-litre TSI petrol engines, a 85bhp and a 105bhp, and two 1.6-litre TDI diesel engines, with 90 or 105bhp. Of the diesels, the 105bhp will be the first engine available, with the other unit expected in August.

The 1.6-litre TDI Eco model includes Stop/Start technology, which cuts the engine if it’s idling in traffic, and an Energy Recovery System.

Seat says that although the Toledo is a hatchback, it is ‘very much in the design of a saloon’ and offers generous interior space and a 550-litre boot.

Two trims of the Seat Toledo will be available in Ireland, Reference and Style. The entry level Reference will include the Seat Media system, offering Bluetooth, Aux and USB ports and a multi-function steering wheel as standard.

However, the Style grade is expected to be the bigger seller. It has cruise control, air conditioning, rear electric windows, front fog lights, and a leather trimmed steering wheel.

Options on the Seat Toledo include Sat Nav (from €704); rear parking sensors (€187) and heated front seats (part of the winter pack – €376).

Seat Ireland director Cian O’Brien said: ‘The Toledo really is the perfect car for the Irish market and we are really excited about its arrival.

‘Hot on the heels of the new Seat Ibiza and Mii and just months away from the arrival of an all-new Seat Leon it points to an exciting new product line-up for Seat in 2013 and beyond.’

Prices for the 1.2 TSI Reference start from €16,890, with prices for the 1.2 TSI Style starting from €19,590.
