Hyundai Ireland is celebrating an almost 40 per cent increase in sales between January and April of this year.

This compares with a 7.1 per cent decline in the overall Irish new car market during the same period.

In fact, there was good news for the brand across Europe, with a 9.7 per cent rise in European sales in the first four months of 2012, compared to the same period last year.

Managing Director of Hyundai Cars Ireland, Stephen Gleeson said its 37 per cent sales increase was down to the introduction of new products such as the i40, the Veloster, and the i30, as well as the strengthening of the dealer network and a growing awareness for the Hyundai brand by Irish consumers.
