The new Citroën C4 Picasso is expected in Ireland later this year

Citroën is hoping its new Citroën C4 Picasso will become a ‘real home from home’ for MPV drivers when it arrives in Ireland later this year.

The new model’s loft style cabin is bright and airy and features a panoramic windscreen and a large glass roof.

The cockpit is centered around two screens – a 7” touchpad in the centre console and a 12” panoramic HD screen on the dash.

The touchscreen controls in-car functions such as sat nav, dual control air conditioning, telephone and audio. Meanwhile, essential driving information is displayed on the 12” screen.

The new Citroën C4 Picasso features keyless entry and start up, and a reversing camera. An enhanced 360 Vision system is also available, which gives the driver a complete view of the area around the car.

This car can also park itself using the Park Assist technology – all the driver has to do is work the accelerator and the brake.

Cruise control, lane departure warning, and Citroën eTouch, the local emergency call and breakdown system are also available.

Smaller on the outside, but bigger on the inside, the Citroën C4 Picasso also a class leading sized boot.

The new Citroën C4 Picasso is also lighter than the outgoing model, which means Citroën has managed to reduce emissions by an average of 30g/km.

The e-HDi 90 Airdream engine, which features a new six speed clutchless gearbox, emits 98g/km with fuel economy of 3.8l/100km, which Citroën says is class leading.

The new Citroën Picasso C4 is expected to arrive in Ireland towards the end of the year. Prices and Irish specifications will be announced closer to the launch date.
