The Peugeot 2008 Concept, which will be available next year, promises to marry the ruggedness of an SUV with the elegance of a small hatchback

Driving seduction is what Peugeot is promising with its latest concept car, the Peugeot 2008.

The French car manufacturer describes the new model, which is based on the Peugeot 208, as ‘agile, compact, versatile and with a striking style’.

It is aiming the crossover both at city dwellers and those wishing to escape it.

The 2008 Concept is powered by a new turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol 110bhp engine, which Peugeot says will offer real driving pleasures.

Environmentally friendly, it also boasts both low CO2 emissions and low fuel consumption, according to Peugeot.

The Peugeot 2008 Concept will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show later this month and the car is expected to go into commercial production next year.

Prices and specification for the Irish market will be announced closer to the launch.
