The Peugeot Quartz Plug-In Hybrid is one of three concept cars Peugeot is bringing to Geneva this year

Peugeot is to bring 27 models to next month’s Geneva Motor Show. These include the new look Peugeot 208, the Onyx, Exalt and Quartz 500bhp concept cars and the Peugeot 2008 DKR.

With an average age of three years, this is the youngest range Peugeot has ever showcased at Geneva.

The new Peugeot 208 will go on sale in Europe this summer and boasts sportier styling, new personalisation options, more equipment and new body colours.

It will be equipped with what Peugeot describes as ‘the most economical combustion engine in the world’. This consumes just 3l/100km and produces 79g of CO2/km.

With a choice of three or five doors, PureTech petrol or BlueHDi diesel engines, the ‘upmarket’ 208 GT features larger 17in alloy wheels, sports seats and steering wheel, aluminium pedals, Equalizer grille and black door mirror covers.

The French car company will also showcase its ‘highly efficient’ new EAT6 automatic gearbox, the ‘revolutionary’ new PureTech petrol engine, the new ‘benchmark’ BlueHDi diesel range and award-winning THP petrol power unit.

The Geneva International Motor Show opens on March 5.
