The Seat Leon has a new sibling and the Seat Leon Sports Coupé is expected in Ireland in July.
A three door version of the Leon, this is the first time there has been a second variant of the car.
While it’s sportier looking than the five-door model, and has a shorter wheelbase, Seat says the Leon SC has a generously sized cabin and a 380-litre boot.
A range of engines will be available in Ireland, including two petrol engines – a 1.2 TSI with a choice of 86bhp or 105bhp and a 1.8 TSI 180bhp – and two diesel engines – a 1.6-litre 90bhp or 105bhp and a 2.0-litre 184bhp.
The new Seat Leon SC will be offered in three trim levels – Reference, Style and FR, with the driver able to adapt drive settings in the SC FR to eco, comfort and sport. The interior lighting in the doors changes to red in sport mode.
Infotainment-wise, the Seat Leon SC features a 5.8” touch screen Easy Connect unit, which controls the SatNav, communication and entertainment.
Prices have yet to be announced for the new Seat Leon SC but are expected to start in the region of €18,495.
Meanwhile, the new Seat Leon will be launched in Ireland at the end of this month.
