The new Seat Leon ST should arrive in Ireland by the end of the year

Seat believes the new Seat Leon Sports Tourer is the ‘most beautiful estate in its class’.

Irish drivers will have the chance to test that assertion when the new model arrives here later this year.

Joining the five-door Leon and Sports Coupé variants, the Sports Tourer is said to ‘combine the youthful, dynamic, design and sporty characteristics of its siblings’.

Seat says it ‘makes a compelling argument that thrilling sporting character and exceptional everyday usability do not have to be mutually exclusive’.

The new Seat Leon Sports Tourer will be available in a choice of direct injection and turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 litres and 86PS to 184PS.

The top of the range FR version offers drivers a choice of driving modes.

New to the Sports Tourer variant is Adaptive Cruise Control, which keeps pace with the car in front by automatically slowing down and speeding up within the set speed.

Seat Ireland director Cian O’Brien said that the Sports Tourer will be ‘a great asset to our range and it should also suit a lot of buyers who want that little bit extra versatility but don’t want an SUV’.

He added: ‘This is without doubt one of the most, if not the most attractive estate cars to be launched on to the market and we anticipate that this will bring new customers to SEAT in 2014 and beyond.’

The Seat Leon Sports Tourer is expected in Ireland in November.
