Seat’s new Toledo is ‘perfect saloon’

The new Seat Toledo is expected to be available in Ireland by the end of the year, with prices starting at around €18,000

Dynamic driving fun and elegant design are what Seat is promising in the new Toledo, which is due to reach Ireland by the end of the year.

In fact, Seat is confident that in the new Toledo it has created ‘the perfect saloon’.

With sporty looks, a spacious interior, great efficiency and value-for-money, the new Toledo is aimed at customers who are seeking a practical, top-quality and affordable family car, the Spanish car maker said.

Design-wise, the new Toledo is longer than its predecessor, with another notable departure the new large, wide opening rear hatch, which replaces the conventional boot of the previous model.

Seat President James Muir said: ‘The Toledo combines great design with amazing practicality, dynamic driving fun with excellent efficiency.

‘This is how we envisage the perfect saloon. Our customers will say: “That is a great car at a great price”’.

Making use of the latest Volkswagen Group engines, the Toledo will initially be available in Ireland in a 1.2l 75bhp petrol engine and a 1.6l 105bhp diesel engine, which will fall into tax band A.

The Toledo is expected to reach Irish showrooms by the end of 2012, with prices starting from around €18,000.
