    The new Skoda Octavia Combi will be available in Ireland from €19,995

    The new Skoda Octavia Combi arrives in Ireland on June 15.

    The new model is longer and wider than the outgoing one and Skoda says it has class leading legroom, cargo space and safety features.

    Knee room and rear headroom are also improved in this generation of the popular estate.

    Three specifications will be available in Ireland, Active, Ambition and Elegance.

    Climatic air conditioning, Bluetooth and electric windows are standard on the mid level Ambition trim, however move up to Elegance and air conditioning is upgraded to dual zone climate control, a touch screen infotainment unit houses an MP3 player, USB, 6 CD changer and an SD card port. Cruise control and rear parking sensors are also standard on the Elegance trim.

    Both manual and automatic transmissions will be on offer with a choice of five engines, ranging from a 1.2 TSI (petrol) 86bhp to a 2.0 TDI CR (diesel) 150bhp.

    Emissions and fuel economy friendly Start and stop technology, which cuts the engine when idling in traffic, is also available.

    Head of Marketing at Skoda Ireland, Raymond Leddy said: ‘This is only the beginning for the Octavia Combi with 4×4 versions, sporty RS alternatives and an 87 gram per kilometre Green Line edition for release before the end of 2013.’

    Prices for the Skoda Octavia Combi start from €19,995.
