The new SsangYong Tivoli is expected in Ireland this summer

SsangYong has announced a new addition to its lineup. The SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV will be debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and is expected in Ireland by the summer.

The Korean car company says that the Tivoli ‘is a car that offers the fusion of great design and sensible practicality, as well as class-leading safety and convenience, and will attract the style conscious customer who seeks form and function from their first entry into the SUV sector’.

The new model takes its name from Tivoli in Italy and is ‘inspired by contemporary city architecture’.

SsangYong says the customisable interior ‘offers the modernity of a luxurious living space, with a stylish and contemporary look’.

Three interior trim colours will be available and the driver can select the instrument panel illumination colour.

A choice of 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engines will be available, as will an automatic transmission.

The car is equipped with three steering wheel modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport – which the driver can select depending on driving conditions.

Connectivity is a big part of the new Tivoli with the smart phone connected infotainment system streaming video and music on to a 7in display screen. This also doubles as a rear view camera.

The SsangYong Tivoli is expected in Ireland later this year and prices and Irish specification will be announced closer to launch.
