• Time for a TomTom Apple app update

    Current TomTom customers can update their app for free.

    TomTom has released a new version of its iPhone and iPad app, with allows users to navigate to an address found on the internet, search with foursquare and get the latest TomTom maps.

    Drivers can get directions by copying an address found on the website and pasting it into the TomTom app. They can also collect foursquare points by checking in on arrival when they link foursquare to the TomTom app.

    The updated app also includes a new certified Danger Zones service alerting to speed cameras in France.

    TomTom managing director consumer, Corinne Vigreux said: ‘Drivers now have new ways to find places with their TomTom app. This should be particularly helpful when people are off on holidays and day trips.

    ‘They can find great places to visit and get there fast with foursquare or a quick copy-paste. And that leaves more time to relax and have fun.’

    TomTom customers with an older version of the app can download v1.11 for free. New customers can buy the Western Europe app from the Apple App store for €69.99.
