The Ford Kuga is a beautiful looking crossover SUV

If big, muscular and majestic looking is your idea of a good drive, then you should check out the Ford Kuga.

The crossover is a really comfortable drive. The Titanium model I was driving had a nice looking part leather/part cloth upholstery, and the car offers a nice high driving position, with good legroom both back and front.

The boot opens in two sections, with the window opening for smaller, lighter items and the full boot opening for bulkier cargo. The rear seats can also be lowered to give extra luggage room. There’s also storage under the rear seats.

The cockpit in the Ford Kuga was well laid out

The model I was driving had an intelligent access push-button start, allowing the driver to start the car once the fob is on their person.

The dash is functional, with a well laid out instrument panel. The test car had BlueTooth, dual control air conditioning, cruise control and speed limiter and auto lights and wipers.

Infotainment wise, it had radio/CD/Aux – but no USB.

The Kuga is a beautiful looking vehicle and I was really looking forward to driving it, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The six-speed manual model I was driving felt like a petrol engine, but in fact was a diesel. With a nice quiet start, the Kuga performed well on all of the roads I travelled in it and was a lovely easy drive.

The interior of the Titanium level test car was a funky looking part leather/part cloth mix

It had great acceleration when overtaking on the motorway, was lovely in cruise and handled well on winding roads.

While there is very little to dislike about the Kuga, one thing I didn’t like was the placement of the Start/Stop button. The same size and shape as the hazard lights button, both are stacked on the centre console – making it easy to mix them up if you’re just glancing over.

Overall, I liked the Kuga. It’s a beautiful, confident-looking vehicle, which offered an enjoyable drive.

Prices for the Ford Kuga start from €30,631 in Ireland, with prices for the Titanium model I was driving starting from €32,881. Parking sensors on the test car were an optional extra at €663.
